Archaeological festival
of the oppidum of Gergovie

 

Over the course of a weekend, the oppidum of Gergovie will be bringing together Gauls and Romans for two days of experiments on the actual site of the famous battle. A big show featuring the horsemen of the Gallic Wars.
Les Arverniales combines science with spectacle, making for a living moment of history alongside a fun, educational and festive approach.

Gaulish and Roman encampments, combat, military manoeuvres, scenes of everyday life, Gaulish cooking, a tavern, crafts, introduction to archaeology, experiments etc. The huge range of activities makes Les Arverniales an event for all ages and all visitors!
